Subject:                                                   Important roadworks information: A47 Rackhams Corner to Sparrows Nest - further work

Dear Customer

Further to previous correspondence, I am writing to tell you that we will be returning to carry out further work on the A47. This is to complete anti-skid surfacing and road markings that could not be completed in December 2024.

We plan to complete this work over one night on Monday 20 January 2025. Work will be carried out between 8pm and 6am only, weather permitting.

Closures and diversions

To carry out the work safely, we will need to close the A47 between Hollingsworth Road and Sparrows Nest, and divert traffic as detailed below:

Northbound: Traffic wishing to travel northbound to Hollingsworth Road will need to exit the A47 at Jubilee Way Roundabout onto St Peter’s Street (A1144). Continue on the A1144 to the A146 Roundabout and turn right onto Peto Way (A12). Follow Peto Way (A12) to Blundeston Roundabout and rejoin the A47.

Southbound: Traffic wishing to travel southbound to Sparrows Nest will need to follow the same diversion as above, but in reverse.

A map of the diversion can be found below.

We also plan to carry out work to repair damaged ironwork and replace signs, and this will be undertaken before the end of March 2025. We will write again with closure details prior to work commencing.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your patience and apologise for any noise and disturbance caused by our work.
