A47 Rackhams
Corner to Sparrows Nest - resurfacing
Dear Customer
I am writing to
tell you that we plan to carry out resurfacing on the A47 Rackhams Corner to
Sparrows Nest. Once complete, drivers will benefit from a safer, smoother and
better-defined road surface.
We plan to
start work on Monday 16 September 2024 for approximately 12
weeks. Work will be carried out on weeknights only, between 8pm and
6am, weather permitting.
Engagement
event
As part of our
information sharing, members of the project team will be hosting an engagement
event on Friday 6 September 2024, between 11am and 4pm, at Triangle Market in
Lowestoft, NR32 1QA.
This will be a
great opportunity for the team to meet with you, provide detailed information
about the planned work and listen to any concerns you may have. We look forward
to meeting you.
Enabling
works
We will also
need to undertake vegetation clearance, including cutting back overhanging
trees along the A47 between Corton Roundabout and Sparrows Nest prior to
resurfacing. Some properties whose trees overhang the A47 may be affected by
tree cutting.
This will be
carried out under 2-way traffic light system during daytime hours between Monday
30 September 2024 and Friday 11 October 2024, weather permitting.
