Bradwell Parish Council has a vacancy for Parish Clerk. The Parish Council operates from Leo Coles Pavilion, on Green Lane and this is where the council offices and staff are normally based. The Parish Council has up to 15 councillors all of whom work hard to make Bradwell a welcoming place.

Casual Vacancy

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that casual vacancies exists in the office of Parish Councillor for the Parish of Bradwell.

An election to fill the said vacancies will be held within sixty days (computed in accordance with the provisions of the Local Government Act, 1972) of the date of this Notice, if by the 6th October 2021 a request for such an election is made in writing to the Returning Officer by TENelectors for the said Parish.  In the event of no such request being received within the requisite period, the Council of the Parish of Bradwell will fill the vacancies on that Council by co-option.

Notices and requests by electors in connection with this vacancy should be delivered to Sheila Oxtoby, Returning Officer, Town Hall, Great Yarmouth, NR30 2QF.

Anglian Water Flood Prevention – Road Closures

Anglian Water are investing £4 million in Gorleston to reduce the risk of sewer flooding to local homes and properties. Improvements will be made to the sewer network on Colomb Road and the High Street, a new sewer on Burgh Road and a new pumping station and storm overflow tank underneath Beccles Road.

Work starts on 6th September 2021 with an anticipated end date of May 2022. Road will be closed as follows:

·  Beccles Road will have the outer lanes in both directions closed from 20 September – 1 October 2021

·  Beccles Road Southbound will be closed from 4 October 2021 – 12 October 2021

·  Beccles Road Northbound and footpath will be closed from 13 October – 3 May 2022  

·  The cul-de-sac on Colomb Road will have traffic control in place from 20 September – 27 October 2021

·  High Street will be closed from 28 October – 6 December 2021

·  Burgh Road will be closed from 1 November 2021 to 31 March 2022

·  Beccles Road roundabout will have lane width restrictions from 7 December 2021 to 15 December 2021

Clearly sign posted diversions will be in place.

E-Scooters And The Law

Do you know the law if you own an e-scooter? Privately owned E-scooters cannot currently be legally used on a public road, cycle lane or pavement. The only place a privately owned e-scooter can be used is on private land.

Wellbeing Packs

Norfolk’s carers are encouraged to apply for the latest new round of wellbeing packs, following the initial success with the first round of packs.

Two thousand additional Wellbeing Packs are being made available for unpaid carers, free of charge, after the first round of packs were taken up enthusiastically across Norfolk.

The packs include some Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to support recipients in their role as a carer, but also includes a items for the carer to enjoy, including chocolate and other items. Carers can apply for a pack here.
