Voluntary Norfolk’s Employment Services Team are part of a new £4.9 million partnership project, led by Norfolk County Council, to help people get back into work and to support people that may find it difficult to work due to their health.
The Chances Project delivers personalised employment support to people both near to and far from work, including those seeking help with health conditions, employability skills, or a lack of self-confidence.

All of our support is locally based, bespoke, flexible, one-to-one, completely free and voluntary. As such, within reason there are no time limits on the support we give individuals. We will take the time to forge community links, trust and rapport with individuals and ‘go the extra mile’ for them where needed.

A47 Burgh Road bridge and A47 Beccles Road bridge: pigeon deterrent works
I write to inform you that we’ll be carrying out essential works to address health and safety concerns and damage caused by pigeons living in the above structures. During the works we will remove pigeons, clean the structure, remove existing spikes which are no longer working and install mesh as a new pigeon prevention measure.
We plan to complete this work over 3 weeks from Tuesday 1 June to Wednesday 16 June, subject to weather conditions, with a mixture of day-time and night-time traffic management. Please see further information below on dates and times of traffic management required. We have closely liaised with the local authority to the area to agree to most suitable diversion routes.

NORFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL has made a Temporary Traffic Order affecting Cley Road from its junction with Lord’s Lane to its junction with Market Road to allow a delivery vehicle to offload cherry picker which is to be used for telecoms maintenance on mast located in a private field.
The road will be temporarily closed (except for access) between 09:30 and 15:30 hours on 2nd June 2021 for the duration of the works, expected to be about 6 hours.
Alternative route is via :– Lords Lane, Mill Road, Market Road (Burgh Castle, Bradwell).
Norfolk Local Access Forum is seeking new members. The Norfolk Local Access Forum is comprised of up to 22 people covering a range of interests in countryside access in Norfolk, including: walking; cycling; horse riding; landowners; conservation; other interests (including health, tourism, business, access for all, heritage, education). The Forum provides independent advice to a number of organisations including Norfolk County Council on improving access to the countryside in Norfolk.
We are looking for enthusiastic and proactive people with a passion for the outdoors with good communication skills to fill 5 volunteer vacancies on the Forum. These new members will represent the following interest areas: young people (or those who can represent young people); all abilities access; land at the water’s edge (anglers, boaters, swimmers); BME; health and wellbeing.

The following terms and conditions have been agreed in the provision of an assistance grant for “Not for Profit” Community Services Providers to the residents of the parish.
The assistance grant is capped at a maximum of £150 per community service providers as a one off payment and will be allocated from the Parish Council’s ring fenced Covid-19 grant budget.
Assistance Grant Process
The purpose for this grant process is to assist in the continuation or re-start of community services within the Parish of Bradwell. Approved grants are to support the costs incurred in the provision of the community services in whatever way the community service provider believes will directly benefit the residents of the parish. The grant if approved will only be paid to the community service provider via their registered bank account.
These terms and conditions limit the award of an assistance grant to “not for profit” community service providers who have regularly provided a services pre-covid to residents within parish. The assistance grant is only eligible to community service providers who have not been entitled to financial support from the Government Local Restrictions Support Grant. The Parish Council’s ring fenced budget has limited funds and therefore applications will only be considered whilst funds are available, once the fund is exhausted applicants will be advised.
The grant application form is designed to be completed by the community service provider only and returned to the Clerk of the Parish Council. Community Service Providers operating through the use of the Mill Lane and Lords Lane Community Centres are not eligible for this assistance scheme as a separate Parish Council assistance scheme is in place to support them through the Community Centres.
